Coming off a Team State Runner-up finish at the State Dual Meet Championships... the Bees once again made history by sending a school record 12 athletes to the Individual State Tournament.
At the Individual State Tournament, the Bees set a new school record recording 9 state place winners, and 4 state finalist!
Leading the way for the Bees was senior Brock Herman. Herman was the 144# State Champion. Herman did so by avenging his only loss of the season defeating 2x State Champion in the semi-final, then recording a 14-4 major decision over 2x Stat Finalist and in the finals. The impressive performance by Herman named his the 2023 Most Outstanding Wrestler of the State Tournament. Brock is the first Brecksville-Broadview Heights athlete to be named the most outstanding athlete of their sport state wide!
Also making history for the Bees was freshman Anna Madi. Madi became the first female in school history to; qualify to the state tournament, place at the state tournament, and reach the state finals!
